Paddy Chayefsky (1923 – 1981) American playwright and novelist; Typed Letter Signed to Leonard Sillman, American Broadway producer, stating "You are making much too much out of this whole thing." Chayefsky had given Sillman money which Sillman believed was investment money for a new production, however as stated by Chayefskyn the letter,  "I never invest in theatrical productions for obvious reasons. If I invest in your,s then all my other friends want to know why I don't invest in theirs." "But my attitude towards investing in theatrical productions is without exception. I don't do it."
