The original site was sole to the Equitable Office Building Corp., organized by General T. Coleman du Pont, president of Du Pont de Nemours Powder Company and built by him. In 1917, the Bankers Club was located on the thirty-fourth floor and the headquarters of the No. 2 District of the Federal Reserve System, the New York area was located at 120 Broadway.
