Uncommon archive of Seventeen (17) Vintage architectural Photographs of the excavation of the land in lower Manhattan where the World Trade Center would eventually be built. A candid documentary study of the men and heavy equipment used to break through and dig out the city streets.
All ca. 8" x 10", Silver Print format. Two with lower margin trimmed. Most quite artistic in their approach. Included are views at street level at the beginning of the excavation through the bottom of the final pit, views of the tunnel through which the Path train ran; views of the foundation pits to which the skyscraper would be attached, views of the equipment at rest, and much more, Perhaps commissioned by the equipment company. Photographer anonymous. All in very good condition.
Addition photos upon request.
