Folio, complete in 4pp. A fine specimen, faint browning, restored spine. With a fine impression of the Halfpenny Newspaper tax stamp, Chandler type 2a.
Rare Contemporary Newspaper Account of Harvard College, signed in type by the President of the Corporation. Virtually the entire front-page is taken up by “The Humble Address of the President and Fellows of Harvard College in New-England” to King George II, expressing sorrow at the death of his father the late King, and swearing true fidelity to the new Sovereign; with an important reprise of the history of “Your Majesty’s loyal and humble college in New England… (as small and unknown as we are…” and the continuing goals of the institution.
